Who We Are

Tuulamaa International Civic Organization is a federally, provincially, and internationally registered humanitarian entity dedicated to community networking and initiative services (CNIS).

Our anticipated long-term outcome is to witness the benefits of being powered by the collective strength of our community and the broader community. Together with our network of social service agencies, we are enhancing TICO's overarching vision, mission, and goals through a robust social service network. By focusing on community investments and grants, groundbreaking research, public policy, and mobilization, we are uniting all the elements to address the growing and ever-changing needs of our region.

Why TICO

TICO says, "You are not alone."

At TICO, we understand that confusion, frustration, depression, and poverty are major challenges that deeply affect our community members, no matter their age, gender, or background, including children, individuals, youth, families, and society as a whole. To effectively address these issues, it is important to collaborate with community partners and government agencies to implement both immediate fixes and long-term strategies for systemic problems.

Our organization, TICO, is committed to meeting the needs of our communities through a range of comprehensive services, including consultations and free counseling. We also provide access to essential resources. TICO offers valuable information, facilitates community networking, and initiates services such as basic computer training to assist individuals in navigating difficulties such as debt stress, employment insecurity, food scarcity, and the risk of homelessness. We remain dedicated to enabling these vital support services.

A group of children and a few adults are gathered in an open area filled with garbage and various debris. The setting appears to be a makeshift community or slum, with makeshift tents and structures constructed from tarps and cloth. Laundry is seen hanging on lines, and greenery with red flowers is present on one side. The image is framed by a dark, jagged border, possibly through a window or broken wall.
